Programs and Activities

At the heart of what we are as a club, is skiing.  It's what brings us together, and the passion we share.

Training and Instruction

20/21 was a little different due to Covid-19, with “Ski Local” being the best option

The Lodge at Mad River was closed for almost the entire season, only opening in the final weeks for fully vaccinated members.

We did manage one testing group at Plattekill and awarded a Bronze certificate!

Junior Program:

Junior weekends normally take place at the lodge two or three times a year.  They're a great opportunity to get your kids together with people their own age and make lifelong friends.  The lodge buzzes with enthusiasm as families hangout in the great room and play games, talk, play guitars or entertain younger members with arts and crafts.

During the day, the Club will subsidize Private/Group lessons at Mad River Glen (or Sugarbush for boarders), so it's a great opportunity to get some formal instruction and improvement.

There's no extra cost at the lodge on Junior Weekends.  This year's schedule is:

  • January 15, 16, 17 - MLK weekend

  • February 19, 20, 21 - President’s Weekend

  • March 19, 20 - regular Jr. Weekend

  • An additional local Jr. Weekend date will be arranged - watch for details

Local Skiing:

We've set-up a place for club members to post where they’re going skiing and a place to meet others, including carpools to local ski areas (if you’re willing to share your drive with someone).

Club members will need to sign-up and become a website member, then you can join the Member Outings Discussion Group.

Our group page also helps get the word out about club and other related events to members and potential members.  To use meetup, you need to create a FREE account on their site with an email address and password.

Once you have an account you can search for and join groups such ours.

When one of your groups announces an event, you will receive an email with the relevant information and you can RSVP to attend. You can also see who else plans to attend the event. Once you RSVP, meetup provides an easy way to put the event on your electronic calendar of choice and receive email or mobile notification reminders.

Discounted tickets for local ski areas are available to members from the New Jersey Ski and Snowboard Council.

See Liz Bellamy at a Thursday night meeting to reserve for the following weekend.
